Hands On GDPR Workshop Launched

Hands On GDPR Workshop Launched

GDPR Workshop launched to give hands on support, learning, documents and templates.

Every business no matter what size, type or age has to comply to the new European wide GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). So a GDPR Workshop has now been created for businesses.

Businesses have until 25th May 2018 to ensure they have applied understanding, policies and processes to be GDPR compliant or face consequences.

The inconvenience of ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) investigations, bad publicity, supplier scrutiny and potential fines of 4% of a business’s global turnover or up to €20Million (whichever is the greater), are just some of the potential outcomes from a customer complaint or data breach.

Richard Singleton at whY-us? commented, “Many have talked about GDPR in networking groups, free seminars and internal company meetings, but still so many businesses have not understood or applied the required processes and policies and educated their employees”.

“The realisation is only just kicking in now, as the deadline of 25th May looms”.

23 Months of Preparation – Only 2 months left

Businesses have been able to prepare for the new European data regulation for the last 22 months, but the regulation can be very confusing for business owners to understand.

Richard continued, “The ICO have now started to advertise through the media, the date is approaching.”
“International breaking news headlines, including the recent Facebook and Cambridge Analytica data sharing saga of 87 million Facebook accounts, are now sparking anger and users are questioning the trust and values of businesses they are providing personal details too”.

“Companies will start being asked by their larger suppliers how they manage personal data. If they can’t prove or demonstrate suitable awareness, policies and processes, they can probably expect to lose contracts for non-compliance.”

“Data is big business and so business owners of all sizes need to understand the value and what is expected of them, both through regulation and the public opinion.”

Hands On GDPR Workshop Launched

GDPR Workshop Help is at hand in the form of a new GDPR Workshop designed to enable businesses to actually start their GDPR projects in the workshop time.

That means their GDPR planning is underway and they leave the GDPR workshop with suitable knowledge, documents, templates and guides to complete the process thereafter.

The GDPR workshop has been created by Claire Akbar at Smart-Test and Richard Singleton at whY-us?

Claire explained “We recognise there have been some great local seminars introducing GDPR concepts, but businesses need the time to actually start their project there and then”.

“In this workshop, they can fully understand the impact of GDPR on their business, ask questions and plan with confidence”.

“We have created a half day GDPR workshop that provides a hands on, sleeves rolled up session”.

“You will not only learn what GDPR is and how it effects your business, you will actually start your project in the session using our portfolio of GDPR templates, documentation and specialist advice”.
