The Steadings is a beautiful, traditional hotel located in the Inverness, in the beautiful Scottish Highlands.
The hotel has recently been acquired by new owners who have a love for Scotland and a fresh perspective on the business. The Steadings decided they needed to bring their brand image up to date and make it more accessible for all users.
The Steadings at The Grouse and Trout offers scenic views, a bar and restaurant and private accommodation. The new owners, Angelique and Robert, love Scotland and have spent a lot of their holidays in the Highlands. When the opportunity arose, they moved to Inverness to begin their new life at The Steadings.
They chose this location because of its short distance to several beautiful places. The hotel is close to Aviemore and close to scenic walks like Loch Morlich. The Steadings instantly felt like home, and they couldn’t wait to share it with others.
The owners decided they needed an update
The Steadings decided they needed to create a digital footprint for themselves. This began by them contacting whY-us? to discuss building a website. Of course, we were happy to help!
We arranged a consultation with the Angelique to discuss their needs for the new website. We discussed their need for a new website that could build brand awareness. This initial conversation helped us to understand their ambitions for the site, and answer any questions they had.
We were able to uncover the rich history of the steadings and decided this would be one of their Unique Selling Points (USPs). It was important to all of us that the website expressed the ethos, which is all about connecting people with nature through unique experiences in beautiful locations across Scotland.
The website had to be accessible for visitors
The site had to include the right features and information to attract new customers and visitors. We needed to build a modern website with an intuitive design style and easy-to-use navigation options that make sense when visiting any page on their website.
It was crucial that the website could be accessed on all devices, and the user journey was as smooth as possible. We were keen for visitors to get an understanding of The Steadings without having to delve into too much detail or look at multiple pages.
We chose to feature pages that highlighted everything they had to offer. We included a page that features the history which includes historical images and some information about the past on a timeline. We also included information about their bar, restaurant, rooms and caravan site. Finally, we featured the owners’ story and a local attractions page.
Integrating a booking system
The Steadings is listed on booking.com, but we also wanted to have a booking facility on the website. We included a functional booking portal which included a pricing guarantee and multiple language options. The booking portal also includes instant, real-time room allocation, which ensures there is no errors or overbooking with other leading platforms. This integration will ensure traffic and customers will be driven to their website.
We were able to provide them with what they wanted and much more
We are really happy with the result of the website. Carl has done a great job of capturing the ethos of The Steadings and including necessary practical features.
